Gurus Echosex 2°T7E Delay
The Echosex 2°T7E is modelled on the vintage Binson Echorec. It is not only a simple “reissue” of the “Old Italian Echo”, but can also boast improvements in detail. Since it is a purely electronic sound processor and there are no mechanical parts such as magnetic tape, drive and sound heads, it is virtually maintenance-free. The audio quality is of course contemporary and much better than an old unit from decades ago. A frequency response of 7-161,000 Hz surpasses anything the human ear is capable of recording. In addition, there is a tube in the enclosure that adds warmth and authenticity to the sound.
The unit has four virtual sound heads, the alignment of which can be adjusted. In addition, the sound and also the decay of the signal that follows can be edited.
Guru’s Ecosex 2°T7E reproduces all the shortcomings of old tape echos, such as the magnetic tape’s synchronisation fluctuations or the different frequency reproduction of the tone heads, admittedly without the “quirks” caused by a fragile tuner. It is not without reason that such illustrious names as Steve Lukather or Alber Lee are among the users of this impressive piece of revived technical history.
